YouTube, Telemundo set ups Miami Spaces
YouTube has set up an original content pop-up studio in Miami, in association with NBCUniversal’s Hispanic broadcast net Telemundo.
The original content push will see YouTube and Telemundo partner. YouTube producers and channel operators will work with Telemundo’s telenovela stars to create original shortform programming, with the best receiving an award at Telemundo’s annual Premios Tu Mundo awards.
YouTube has set up ‘Spaces’, which are studios for content creators using the platform, in Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, New York, Sao Paulo, Berlin, Paris, Mumbai and Toronto.
These are supplemented by ‘Pop-Up Spaces’, temporary studios set up in other worldwide locations. The Miami studio will be in place for three days.
“Collaborating with leading YouTube creators in this first-ever ‘YouTube Pop-Up Space Miami’ allows us to discover new twists on our beloved novela format,” said Peter E. Blacker, executive VP of digital media and emerging business for NBCU Telemundo Enterprises.
