eOne hires ITV Studios EMEA sales exec

Entertainment One Television has hired ITV Studios distribution veteran Toby Melling, TBI has learned.

Melling will become VP, sales for eOne Television International, having most recently been VP, sales for northwest EMEA at ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

He will report to eOne Television International president Stuart Baxter, and cover France, the Middle East and Africa.

Graham Spencer had been overseeing sales in the Middle East and Africa before his recent move to All3Media International was announced, but an eOne spokesman said Melling was not a direct replacement.

eOne has also recently lost Cristina Sala, who left her post as sales director for Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Greece and Israel to become VP, sales, Italy, Italian-speaking Switzerland and Greece at Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution.

Melling has plenty of experience in international sales, working across genres from feature films to formats. He has been with ITVSGE since August 2014, overseeing distribution in Germany, Benelux and the Nordics, and selling directly into France.

An ITVS spokesman said he had not been replaced, and that his role no longer existed with his duties now spread across the team.

Before ITV, Melling spent seven years at Content Television, where he was VP, sales. He has also worked at Capitol Films, Pandora and BBC Worldwide.
