TBI/DTVE awards shortlist revealed
The likes of Fox Networks Group, Endemol Shine International and ITV Studios will battle it out for awards at the second Content Innovation Awards in Cannes this year.
TBI publisher Knect365 has revealed the shortlist for the event, which takes place at the Carlton Hotel on Sunday, October 16.
TBI and sister title Digital TV Europe successfully launched the ceremony last year to celebrate the best in class from the television content and technology sectors.
UK-based Content Media, Endemol Shine International, Israel’s Armoza Formats and Turkey’s Global Agency will compete for the Best Content Distributor award at this year’s event.
Best Series Launch of the Year will see Outcast (Fox UK / Fox Networks Group), The Brokenwood Mysteries (All3Media International), Love Island (ITV Studios Global Entertainment), The A Word (Keshet International), Paul Hollywood’s City Bakes (Scripps Networks Interactive) and Versailles (Zodiak Rights) competing.
A new category, Breakout International Drama, places NSU: German History X (Beta Film), 11/22/63 (Fox), Narcos (Gaumont Television), Poldark (ITVSGE) and The Last Panthers (Warp Films and Haut et Court Television) in contention.
Elsewhere, AMC’s debut in the UK is up for Best New Channel Launch, Fox UK and Gusto TV are up for Channel of the Year, Keshet International competes for Industry Innovator of the Year and NBCUniversal International goes for OTT TV Initiative of the Year for its reality SVOD network Hayu.
Endemol Shine Beyond goes for The Millennials Award for its international roll out of youth-skewed MCN AwesomenessTV, while BT Sport, NRK, Sky Italia, Acorn TV, Kindle Entertainment, The QYou, MTG, Red Bull Media House and ZDF are competing for technology-focused gongs.
