Barcroft adds execs after Channel 4 investment
UK-based digital content business Barcroft Media has hired execs from News UK and Bloomberg for new senior editorial and commercial posts.
Dom Smith, a former FHM Australia editor and FHM managing editor, has become head of editorial and will oversee the flow of content to the Barcroft video business, which has one of the UK’s largest YouTube channels. Charley Sutton has been promoted to deputy head of editorial.
On the commercial side, former UKTV, Yahoo and BBC Worldwide exec Victoria Catton has been named head of partnerships. She joins from Bloomberg, where she was distribution manager.
She will be tasked with expanding commercial opportunities at Barcroft.
The appointments are the first to follow Channel 4 investing in Barcroft through its Growth Fund in June.
“We’re very pleased to welcome two proven leaders in their respective fields. Maintaining and growing our editorial and commercial capabilities are key components of our expansion strategy,” said Barcroft Media CEO Sam Barcroft.
“It’s exciting to welcome talent such as Dom and Victoria to the business. Their arrival enables Alex and me to focus on leading the Barcroft group of companies and on maximising the growth of our branded content arm Barcroft Plus.”
