ITV2 orders time-travel comedy
UK digital terrestrial channel ITV2 has ordered a 6x30mins comedy in which south London jazz musicians travel back in time to the 1920s.
Timewasters comes from Daniel Lawrence Taylor (Cockroaches), who also stars as one of four struggling jazz musicians who become stuck in the past after travelling back through “a urine-sodden lift in a dilapidated block of flats”.
ITV Studios-owned Big Talk Productions is attached to producem with Kenton Allen and Saurabh Kakkar executive producing.
ITV’s head of digital channels and acquisitions, Rosemary Newell, said it was “a truly original” script, adding: “Daniel Lawrence Taylor is a real shining light, and Timewasters perfectly pitched at our key demographic of young adults”.
Newell made the announcement yesterday at the Edinburgh International Television Festival.
