RTL buys Endemol Shine’s Big Music Quiz

German broadcaster RTL has ordered a local version of Endemol Shine format The Big Music Quiz.

The German version of the show will run to six parts on RTL.

The musical format tasks celebrity contestants with musical challenges. It was originally created by French prodco Ardisson&Lumières and Shine France, and two seasons have run on free-to-air channel TF1 in France.

In addition to the German deal, Endemol Shine has got the format away in Australia, where it has just successfully bowed in primetime on Network 7.

“The Big Music Quiz is a next generation musical game show, packed with celebrities, music trivia and a huge play-along factor,” said Lisa Perrin, CEO of Creative Networks at Endemol Shine Group.

“The format is on a roll with fantastic ratings in France and Australia and this latest deal in Germany, where we think audiences will be equally enthralled.”

Endemol Shine Germany, which makes the local versions of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Celebrity Big Brother, and The Brain, will make the RTL show.
