Baker moving to the UK for EasyTrack
Rights management business EasyTrack is setting up in the UK, with former Foxtel acquisitions boss Alison Baker to run the London office.
EasyTrack is a Sydney-based software firm, and its service allows content companies track rights, sales, acquisitions and reporting. It was created in 2008 by former Southern Star exec Christian McGowan.
Baker will relocate to the UK from Australia to run the new operation. She has been at the company since January having previously been a buyer for pay TV platform Foxtel’s lifestyle nets.
She has also worked at the ABC in Australia and Southern Star (now part of Endemol Shine Australia) in a 20-year career in international TV.
Numerous large distributors are based, or have a significant presence in, London, making it an obvious European base for EasyTrack.
All of the Hollywood studios have a base in the British capital, as do the likes of Lionsgate and A+E. International distributors including All3Media International, BBC Worldwide, FremantleMedia and Zodiak Rights are also all based in London.
EasyTrack said it already counts London-based Endemol Shine International, Zodiak Rights, Passion Distribution and TCB Media Rights as customers.
Baker said she will be putting together a small support and development team.
“Our strategy is to expand our core roster of large European clients, while doubling the number of smaller distributors and producers who use our cloud version of EasyTrack, which has been designed specifically for boutique players,” she added.
