Pre-market Shark Tank deals for Sony
Sony Pictures Television has struck several pre-MIPCOM deals for one of its evergreen formats, Shark Tank.
In Israel, commercial broadcaster Keshet has ordered a local version of Shark Tank (aka Dragon’s Den) and local prodco, and formats specialist Gil will make the show.
Canal Sony in Brazil has ordered a local version, Negotiating with Sharks, with SPT prodco Floresta producing the 13-episode series.
In Brazil, Canal Sony has ordered its first-ever season of Shark Tank – Negotiating with Sharks. The 13 episode run is being produced by Floresta and will debut this week.
In east Africa, Kenyan station Nation TV has also ordered a local version, with a 12-episode series being made by Quite Bright films and bowing this year.
Recommissions for the show, in which would-be entrepreneurs pitch ideas to wealthy investors, include in Germany, where Vox has ordered season four. Danish pubcaster DR has greenlit a second season with ITV Studios prodco United making the show.
SIC in Portugal has also ordered a second series, with Take & Sound Productions making the show.
