James Bond spies Canadian SVOD deal
CraveTV has scooped the rights to the James Bond library of films, giving it classic and upcoming movies featuring the famous British spy.
Canadian SVOD service CraveTV, which is ultimately owned by telco Bell, has inked a programming deal with MGM for the 007 Collection, which covers 50 years of Bond and includes films featuring all six of the actors to have played Bond.
Titles include Dr. No and Casino Royale. The latest Bond movie, Spectre, will join the line-up next year.
CraveTV operates in a competitive local SVOD landscape, competing against Netflix, and Shomi, although the latter will close at the end of November.
James Bond movies remain popular on TV and now on-demand platforms and the world. German pay TV platform Sky has previously launched a dedicated pop-up channel, and MGM continues to generate TV sales from the film franchise.
