Bond exits Discovery’s Raw for Endemol Shine prodco
UK prodco Dragonfly has hired Richard Bond as creative director.
He joins the Endemol Shine prodco from Raw, the UK producer owned by Discovery.
Bond (right) was at Raw for six years, and his credits include BBC series Conviction: Murder at the Station and Channel 4 dramas The People Next Door and Cyberbully.
“I have long admired Richard’s creativity and drive for innovation so I am delighted that he is joining as creative director,” said Kim Shillinglaw, Endemol Shine UK’s director of factual and former BBC Two and Four chief (pictured).
“He is a master of storytelling, unconstrained by conventional genres as he demonstrated so brilliantly with shows like Blackout and Cyberbully.“
“I’ve had a great time at Raw, and they’re a fantastic company, but Kim is one of the best in the business and I just couldn’t turn down the opportunity to work with her,” Bond added.
“The success of shows like Ambulance and A World Without Down’s Syndrome is a testament to the strength and creativity of the current team, and I couldn’t be more excited about working closely with them to develop the next wave of innovative and agenda setting television.”
Bond starts at Dragonfly next year, and will report to Shillinglaw who oversees the Dragonfly, Dragonfly West, DSP and Tigress prodcos.
