BBC Worldwide poaches ITV sales exec
BBC Worldwide has hired Andre Renaud with the sales exec joining from ITV where he spent 12 years.
At Worldwide Renaud will be vice president of sales for Italy and Iberia, a newly-created role at the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster.
He starts in the new role in January, reporting to another former ITV exec, Tobi de Graaff.
Renaud started at ITV in 2004 at Granada International, before the merger of Carlton and Granada and subsequent creation of a unified ITV Studios Global Entertainment distribution division.
Most recently Renaud was sales director, EMEA and international format sales at ITVGE. He previously managed ITV’s sales business in Benelux, Israel, Greece and Portugal.
De Graaff welcomed Renaud to Worldwide, noting some other recent hires: “Andre will be a huge asset to the team with his background in TV and format sales across a number of different markets,” he said.
“His appointment follows two other recent key Western Europe hires, Adam Bishop, our VP of sales for German- and French-speaking territories, and Fraser Robinson who joined us as our genre director for scripted.”
Renaud said: “BBC Worldwide has an amazing catalogue of top class content which makes this a very exciting opportunity for me. I am thrilled to continue building relationships with the clients in Italy and Iberia and look forward to joining the team in the New Year.”
