Croatian pubcaster names acting general manager
Croatia’s parliament has named Blago Markota as the new acting general manager of public broadcaster HRT.
Markota secured a parliamentary vote of 115 deputies, with four voting against and four abstentions.
Markota has worked for HRT since 1999, most recently as head of archive and programme content.
In the latter role, he worked closely with the EBU to help with the digitisation of public service media archive content in south-eastern Europe.
He earlier held roles including marketing director, board member for Croatian Television and adviser to the general manager.
He has been a member of the Executive Council of the International Federation of Television Archives for the last two years, and has worked with the Croatian ministry of culture to establish new national archive regulations.
