ITV absorbs US reality prodco Kingdom Reign
ITV’s US unscripted division has inked a deal with The Real Housewives of Atlanta exec producer Carlos King whose prodco Kingdom Reign will become a label under the ITV America umbrella.
King will make docusoaps, lifestyle and reality programming as president of ITV-backed Kingdom Reign.
He will report to ITV America chief creative officer Adam Sher and Leftfield Entertainment CEO David George.
The deal was brokered by Ed Simpson, executive VP, business development & international at ITV America.
Sher and George said: “Carlos has an expert eye for talent and the ability to identify fascinating worlds with diverse lifestyles and experiences that are relatable, aspirational and fun to watch.
“All of us at ITV America are eager to support Carlos as he continues to showcase strong characters, and to offer him the freedom to expand and create breakthrough content across many styles and genres.”
King (pictured) said: “This is an amazing opportunity for Kingdom Reign to continue to bring viewers our brand of glossy content and expand into new genres of television, including documentaries and scripted, to best showcase multiple realities and unique perspectives.”
King’s credits include Hollywood Divas, Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta and My Super Sweet 16.
ITV America is UK broadcaster ITV’s US reality TV division and includes the prodcos Leftfield, Red Bandit, DiGa and Gurney. US scripted at sits under the ITV Studios America banner.
