Sundog chases down development chief
UK factual indie Sundog Pictures has hired a new head of development from rival Popkorn TV.
Nicky Huggett has joined Sundog after two years at Popkorn, where she was head of development.
Sundog is behind recent docs such as Channel 4’s What Britain Bought in 2016 and Channel 5’s MPs: Behind Closed Doors.
While at Popkorn, Huggett worked on Channel 4 and E4 franchise Rich Kids of Instagram, and has also overseen the development team at Rare TV (Big Ballet).
Huggett has also worked at CTVC, where she produced The Murder Workers, and Windfall Films, where she developed Discovery series Strip the City and BBC Three doc Alex: A Life Fast Forward.
Sundog creative director Sam Anthony said her expertise would “enable us to push further into the documentary series space in the UK and the US”.
