3 Ball boss inks new deal
The CEO of 3 Ball Entertainment has renewed his deal at the US reality prodco for two more years.
Todd A. Nelson will continue as co-CEO of the producer, which was formerly Eyeworks USA, working alongside co-CEO Ross Weintraub.
Nelson was a co-founder of 3 Ball in 2003, before selling it to the Eyeworks Group in 2006.
Eyeworks was acquired by Warner Bros. in 2014 in a US$273 million deal and at that point the US business, including 3 Ball, transitioned back to being independent. The whole US business was then rebranded 3 Ball Entertainment.
Nelson reports to by 3 Ball chairman Reinout Oerlemans, who said: “Todd Nelson is that rare breed of great producer and great chief executive.
“As long as I’ve known him, he has focused on making dynamic and authentic shows, while also making 3 Ball a place where producers could shine and take risks, and nurture their own growth in our business.”
Nelson (pictured) added: “We created the original 3 Ball to be a family, and our family has grown tremendously over the last 14 years.
“I’m looking forward to this new chapter and grateful to get to continue doing great work with great colleagues and friends.”
In its original incarnation, 3 Ball created reality shows including Beauty and the Geek (pictured) and produced series such as The Biggest Loser.
