Ex-C4 commissioner joins Rare TV prodco
A former commissioner at UK broadcaster Channel 4 has joined UK producer Screenchannel Television as its first creative director.
Katie Boyd joins the Rare TV Group-owned prodco to help expands its slate of returnable series, focusing on UK factual and factual entertainment formats with global potential.
Screenchannel launched in 2009 and became part of London-based producers group Rare in 2015. The company recently landed its first Dispatches commission from Channel 4, and produced animated series The History of Sex for BBC Three.
Boyd joins having worked as an executive producer for various UK prodcos, including Nutopia, Maverick Television, Optomen Television and Endemol Shine Group. Her credits include Home Front and Restoration for BBC One and BBC Two respectively and Good Sex Guide for ITV.
She also worked as a commissioning editor at broadcaster Channel 4, where she commissioned and executive-produced Embarrassing Bodies and Location, Location, Location.
