Robert Redford, Jackie Chan join BBC’s Earth sequel
Robert Redford and Jackie Chan have come on board Earth: One Amazing Day, the UK-China coproduced sequel to the BBC’s hit feature doc Earth.
The upcoming factual feature is currently in post production and is being made by the BBC and China’s SMG, with Goldcrest Films distributing. It will have a theatrical release, following the US$112 million box office success of the first film.
Actor, director and environmentalist Redford will narrate the English-language version, while Chan will voice its Mandarin equivalent.
The film is billed as an immersive voyage across the earth as the filmmakers track the journey of the sun over a day.
“Robert Redford and Jackie Chan each lending their voices to the film is the icing on the cake for what is already a formidable international talent line up on this world class film,” said Stephen McDonogh, who is producing the project.
