Vevo poaches Fullscreen’s McGurn
Music video streaming service Vevo has brought in Kevin McGurn, with the digital exec joining from MCN group Fullscreen.
At Vevo, which is backed by some of the music majors, he will be chief sales officer.
He joins from Fullscreen where he was head of sales. He has also worked at Shazam and was SVP, sales, at Hulu for over six years.
Vevo CEO Erik Huggers has talked up plans for a Vevo SVOD launch in recent months, and welcomed the addition of McGurn.
“With our increasing focus on growing Vevo’s owned and operated business, we needed someone with a proven track record to lead the way,” former BBC digital exec Huggers said.
“Kevin is uniquely qualified in this regard and will make a significant impact on the long-term growth and success of our company.”
McGurn added: “With some of the world’s most watched content and an audience of incredible scale, Vevo is the go-to destination for artists, their audiences and brands.
“This is a global media company built on premium content with an unrivaled reach to the most sought after audiences in the advertising marketplace.”
