Viacom rejig continues as MTV’s Lehrer exits
MTV’s head of development, Eli Lehrer, is leaving the young adult-focused cable channel, as Bob Bakish’s reworking on Viacom’s management continues.
VH1 development chief Lily Neumeyer has added MTV to his duties following executive VP Lehrer’s exit, which comes just three months after he was promoted.
Neumeyer will now oversee MTV along with Nina Diaz, who was upped to head unscripted programming at the network and VH1 in November last year, and to whom Neumeyer will report.
Chris McCarthy remains in charge overall as president of MTV, VH1 and LGBTQ-focused Logo.
Neumeyer has been with VH1 since July 2016, when she joined from cable channel A&E, where she developed unscripted hit Duck Dynasty.
The moves are latest at Viacom since Bob Bakish became president and CEO, and subsequently set out his turnaround plan.
Exec changes have followed at Spike, TV Land and CMT in the US, and Viacom UK & Ireland chief David Lynn succeeded Bakish at Viacom International Media Networks.
