Lionsgate poaches ITV exec for UK
Lionsgate has hired Sarah Conroy as executive producer, reuniting her with her former ITV boss, Steve November.
Conroy will report to November, who joined independent studio Lionsgate from ITV late last year. At the UK broadcaster, she was a drama commissioning editor and part of November’s team.
At Lionsgate, she will work to grow the studio’s UK output, which is growing after the studio bought into UK indies Potboiler Television, Bonafide Films, Primal Media and Kindle Entertainment.
Lionsgate also co-financed the Channel 4 comedy Damned, which was recently greenlit for a second series.
“Sarah is a highly-respected and experienced executive with great taste and I’m delighted to be working with her to develop our slate of original UK drama,” November said.
“We will be collaborating closely with [Lionsgate Television Group chairman] Kevin Beggs, [international scripted TV chief] Chris Selak and the rest of our teams as we continue to build our UK television business.”
Prior to ITV Conroy was a commissioning editor at Sky.
