Raydar calls on Ahlefeldt for acquistions
Raydar Media has recruited 3DD cofounder for acquisitions and coproductions in Australasia and Asia Pacific.
Von Ahlefeldt will oversee factual acquisitions as an executive consultant through her own company Secret Sauce.
Ahlefeldt has headed up SBS TV’s distribution arm in Australia and was a cofounder of UK independent producer and distributor 3DD Entertainment.
The partnership with von Ahlefeldt sees a raft of SBS food titles fed into the Raydar portfolio including the Luke Nguyen and Peter Kuruvita (pictured) series respectively, and they will be relaunched at MIP TV.
“Having Lara on the ground in Australia will enable us to seek out co-production and acquisition opportunities more readily and will also provide Lara’s impressive portfolio of producer clients with access to Raydar’s global funding and distribution client base,” said Raydar Media’s managing director, Alison Rayson.
Lara Von Ahlefeldt said: “Coupling Raydar’s extensive multi-genre distribution experience along with Sauce’s contacts in the factual and food space, I believe we are well positioned to offer a unique and bespoke service to our clients globally.”
Raydar will be selling the Australian shows at MIPTV. Specific titles include Network Ten’s A Taste of Travel.
Raydar will also be looking to secure finance partners for an original Australia-originated project, The Irwin Effect, produced by Flickchicks, at MIPTV.
