Studio Lambert drama set for Series Mania
The final selection for the Series Mania copro pitching session have been announced and include Girl on a Wire, a drama from Gogglebox prodco Studio Lambert.
The UK prodco is best-known for its unscripted fare, but has moved into scripted with the hire of Susan Hogg as head of drama and a commission for an as-yet-unnamed BBC series.
Girl on a Wire is one of the 16 projects selected for the copro pitch from an initial selection of 300.
Other projects in the final selection include Freud, from Germany’s Bavaria Fernsehproduktion, Romans in L.A., from Endemol Shine Italy, The Head, from Mediapro in Spain and The Steins, from France’s Newen Group and Keshet International.
“Scaling down from over 300 entries to the 16 titles chosen is no easy task but we are confident these are some of the best series in development today,” said Laurence Herszberg, general director of Forum des Images and founder of Series Mania.
“Additionally, the caliber of our jury members this year is top-notch and we look forward to working with them in Paris as they determine this year’s best project and winner of €50,000 (US$54,340). What a great time to be jury member.”
The members of the judging panel include: jury president Francesca Orsi, co-head of drama, HBO; Thomas Bourguignon, producer, Kwai; Piv Bernth, head of drama, DR; Henrik Pabst, managing director, Red Arrow International; and Pilar Perez Roel, head of acquisitions, DCD Rights.
