CTV opens ABC’s Toy Box ahead of MIPTV
Bell Media’s Canadian network, CTV, has bought upcoming ABC reality competition series The Toy Box, which Electus International is bringing to Cannes.
The deal means commercial channel CTV will simulcast the series from its debut in the US on ABC, on April 7 at 8pm ET.
The Toy Box is a competition series in which expert designers get the chance to bring their toy concepts to life, with products and contestants facing challenges before facing judges, who are comprised of no-nonsense children.
It comes from Hudsun Media, toyco Mattel and Electus, whose international arm will be selling the format next week at MIPTV.
“With the support of world-renowned toy brand Mattel, The Toy Box is one of the season’s most promising shows,” said John Pollak, president of Electus International (pictured).
“We’re excited to partner with Bell Media to bring the series to Canadian audiences, and look forward to continuing this momentum ahead of MIPTV.”
