New Bake Off format deals
Czech pubcaster CT has ordered a local version of the popular Bake Off format.
The new version of the baking competition format will run to ten episodes and the green light means the format has been licensed to 25 countries in all.
In the UK, the series is switching from the BBC to Channel 4, but BBC Worldwide retains the distribution rights, with the exception of the US. The show is produced by Sky-backed producer Love Productions.
Sumi Connock, who recently joined as Worldwide as creative director of formats, said: “We’re delighted with these new deals and the international reach of the show and look forward to growing the Great Bake Off fan base even more.”
In other BBC Worldwide format news the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster has sealed a new Central and Eastern Europe deal for its Dancing with the Stars property. The show has launched on Nova TV in Czech Republic and been renewed by bTV in Bulgaria and Markiza TV in Slovakia.
Elsewhere in the regions, the show just launched on Pro TV in Romania and Pop TV in Slovenia.
