SVT takes large BBC Worldwide package
Swedish pubcaster SVT has acquired a wide-ranging programming deal with BBC Worldwide.
SVT has often looked to the BBC’s commercial arm, and this time round has bought series such as Top of the Lake: China Girl (pictured), which stars Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies) and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones).
The deal also comprises psychological drama Paula and returners Scott and Bailey and The Durrells.
On the factual front, SVT gets 80 hours of factual shows such as true crime series Love and Hate Crime, modern air travel doc City in the Sky, and a number of nature and science shows.
Bagel Becky and Sarah and Duck topline the kids TV programming titles for the pubcaster.
Stephen Mowbray, head of SVT International, said: “No other distributor is able to offer this dynamic range of world class programming.”
