USA Network orders UK format remake
American cable channel USA Network has commissioned a local version of Big Star’s Little Star, the British format that pairs celebs and their children in order to win cash for charity.
The series first went out in the UK on ITV (pictured), and with the USA deal has now been sold into eleven territories by distributor ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
ITV Entertainment, ITV America’s US unscripted arm, is producing the USA series, with Cat Deeley hosting.
The format sees celebs and their children put their unique knowledge of each other to the test, facing questions about family life over a series of rounds.
Several versions were commissioned back in May 2014, marking the show’s international debut.
The format comes from game show specialist 12 Yard Productions, which is part of ITV Studios, the production arm of UK broadcaster ITV.
