Eccho Rights recruits in Seoul
Eccho Rights has added to its Asian team with the recruitment of Deborah Youn, who will be based in the distributor’s new office in Seoul, South Korea.
Deborah comes from iMBC where, as Sales Manager, she has been responsible for global distribution and digital licensing of Korean broadcaster MBC’s content. She also oversaw the acquisition of English-language programming for Korean OTT platforms.
Eccho distributes drama series and formats from around the world, including those originated in Korea. Youn will be selling its finished shows and formats into the Korean market.
“I am delighted to be joining Eccho Rights at this crucial and exciting time for Korean content,” she said. “Eccho Rights has been at the forefront of globalising compelling dramas and I feel honoured to have a hand in realising the local and global ambitions of the team.”
Nixon Yau Lim, Eccho’s head of Asia, said: “We believe strongly in the Korean market, both as a source for readymade hits but also as a market for format adaptations.
“Deborah has a unique understanding of the Korean market as well as digital platforms, and will be a very strong addition to our team.”
