Laetitia Recayte leaving France Télévisions
Laetitia Recayte is exiting France Télévisions this summer.
The former Newen Group exec joined the French pubcaster in a wide-ranging rights exploitation role in late 2015, but is soon leaving the French pubcaster.
French trade title Satellifax broke the news this morning. It reported that Recayte’s decision to leave France Télévisions was based upon her remuneration in the role at the pubcaster.
Recayte took on her current role soon after its chief, Delphine Ernotte, joined. She oversaw in-house production unit MFP, as well as sales division France Télévisions Distribution.
France Télévisions is in the middle of a defining period. The pubcaster wants to create a new SVOD platform to distribute French content and offer a counterweight in France to Netflix and Amazon.
It has also been looking to better exploit production revenues, rights and international sales under a new quota system.
The pubcaster was also involved in a public spat with Newen, Recayte’s previous employer, last year after commercial broadcaster TF1 acquired the prodco.
