Transparent scribe sets up Super Sensitives project
Transparent co-writer Faith Soloway is penning Super Sensitives, a comedy drama about a group of characters who are allergic to the modern world.
Dancing Ledge, the Fremantle-backed prodco that Laurence Bowen launched last year. It will produce Super Sensitives.
Soloway is currently writing the fourth season of Amazon’s acclaimed original Transparent, which she cowrites with her sister Jill Soloway who created the series.
“We are taking on voices and stories I’ve always been fascinated with but have never seen told in a comedic tone,” Soloway she said of Super Sensitives. “Playing against the grain is the most exciting thing as a writer. I cannot wait for this challenge.”
Bowen said: “The quality and big heartedness of her writing hits you between the eyes from the off and I’ve been a huge fan of hers for years. We’re really excited about finding a story set in the US we can develop together. Happy days.”
Prior to Dancing Ledge, Bowen was the founder of Feelgood Fiction. FremantleMedia has a 25% stake in his new firm, which is based in Notting Hill, London.
The company has a development deal with popular actor Martin Freeman and has dramas by Mark Gatiss and others on the development slate.
It recently announced its first commission, Porters, a comedy about hospital porters for UKTV.
