Drama development chief exits 20th TV
Brandon Brito is leaving Twentieth Century Fox Television ten months after being promoted to senior VP of drama development.
Chloe Dan has been named SVP of development, reporting to executive VP Michael Thorn, and will replace Brito.
Dan has been with Fox since 2014, and is credited with overseeing the creation of NBC drama This is Us, which was arguably the critical hit of the 2016/17 US freshman shows.
She had joined from DreamWorks Studios, where she worked on feature films.
Twentieth TV has various new dramas for the upcoming season, all of which will be for the Fox network. These are Marvel Television’s The Gifted, medical drama The Resident, The Passage, The Beast and Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville.
“Chloe is an extraordinarily gifted creative exec who has contributed mightily to our drama development over the past several years,” said Thorn.
“While she had more than earned a promotion, we felt the time had come to channel her passion and skills into a leadership role at this company. We’re happy to announce that she will head our drama development team, effective immediately.”
Former Fox 21 Television Studios exec Brito had replaced Lisa Katz last July, after Katz joined NBC as executive VP of drama development. In turn, that had followed Pearlena Igbokwe’s promotion to president of Universal Television.
