Ambuj GoyalStreaming company Magine is creating a subscription VOD service offering Spanish movies.

Magine has hooked up with Spain-based content rights firm Dinamedia to launch the offer, which will be known as FlixOlé.

The service will offer “one of the world’s largest libraries of Spanish movies” when it launches in Spain late this month.

The service will then expand globally to target Spanish-language audiences around the world.

“There is a huge market for an aggregated service for Spanish movies, and together with Magine we now see an opportunity to use our global rights for our Spanish movie library, to be viewed on any smart TV’s and mobile screens all around the world,” said Sophie de Mac Mahon, CEO at Dinamedia.

Sweden-based Magine already launched streaming services in Europe, and last year announced it was creating an internet video streaming service in China. It also offers an over-the-top service in Thailand.

“With Dinamedia’s exclusive content rights for Spanish film and Magine’s global platform, we see a perfect match, and we believe there is a great opportunity for us to invest in and develop a global service with great content “ said Ambuj Goyal, CEO of Magine (pictured).
