eOne inks multi-year deal with StoryBy
Global independent studio Entertainment One (eOne) has entered a multi-year TV first-look deal with US-based StoryBy Entertainment.
eOne, best known as the distributor of The Walking Dead and producer of shows such as Rookie Blue, will serve as the studio on StoryBy’s television projects and will control worldwide rights under the partnership.
StoryBy was launched by literary manager Michael Prevett in partnership with Howard Braunstein, Jonathan Baruch and Rob Wolken to generate film and television projects based on premium source material.
Pancho Mansfield, president of global scripted programming at eOne (pictured), said: “We are thrilled to work with Howard, Michael, Jonathan, Rob and the team at StoryBy, whose diverse experience across the industry has put them at the forefront of author- and creator-driven projects.
“With this new partnership, their relationships will enable us to access highly sought-after creative talent and IP in the earliest stages.”
The partnership builds on eOne Television’s growing network of first-look deals that tie-up talent and access international distribution rights. Last month, it landed a deal with Brad Peyton’s ASAP Entertainment and in February partnered with Olive Productions, a new prodco that Steve Buschemi, Stanley Tucci and Wren Arthur have launched.
