Acorn is Keeping Faith with BBC, S4C drama
Acorn Media Enterprises (AME) has become a coproducer on BBC Wales and S4C thriller drama Keeping Faith.
France-based distributor About Premium Content (APC) has brokered an agreement to bring Acorn on board for all rights in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
In Wales, the dual-language series will be known as Un Bore Mercher and will debut in the autumn. UK rights outside Wales remain available.
Keeping Faith comes from Vox Pictures, and stars Eve Myles (Victoria) as a woman who discovers her husband is living a double life.
“As we ramp up our coproduction activities, we’re delighted to be bringing Keeping Faith to the English-speaking world and to have forged new partnerships with APC and Vox,” said Shane Murphy, managing director of AME.
Acorn is currently coproducing various UK dramas, including the BBC’s Close to the Enemy, Rollem-produced Love, Lies and Records, and a TV adaptation of Agatha Christie novel The Witness for the Prosecution.
APC parent Nevision is gap-financing Keeping Faith, handing the distributor its first English-language drama.
APC spotted the 8x60mins drama at Series Mania two years ago. “Moving into English-language drama marks the next step in the growth of our portfolio and we are excited to have secured a home for the show in the US already, and look forward to taking it to audiences across the globe,” said APC co-founder and joint CEO Emmanuelle Guilbart (pictured).
Adrian Bate is executive producer for Vox, Murphy for AMC, Gwawr Martha Lloyd and Maggie Russell for S4C and the BBC respectively, and James Cabourne for Nevision.
