Hulu to stream ZDF ballet time-travel drama
US streaming service Hulu had acquired exclusive VOD rights to Find Me in Paris, the time-travel-meets-ballet drama from ZDF and Cottonwood Media.
The series, which comes from Ride co-creators Jill Girling and Lori Mather-Welch, will premiere in the US on the broadcast-backed VOD service as a result.
Hulu has been making headlines in the past week, with a recent M Science report claiming it was the key driver in US cord-cutting, rather than SVOD market leader Netflix.
France Télévisions, Disney France and Italy, the ABC (Australia) and VRT (Belgium) have already acquired the half-hour tween drama, which Paris-based Cottonwood is coproducing with German pubcaster ZDF and its commercial wing, ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE).
Cottonwood sister firm Federation Kids & Family is selling the series alongside ZDFE.
We are confident that Find Me in Paris will be a part of “Hulu’s explosive growth in the SVOD industry, while also finding the perfect place to connect with and inspire American kids,” said Cottonwood president David Michel.
Find Me in Paris follows a young ballet dancer from 1905 unintentionally transported into the modern day, where she embraces the dance and fashion culture.
