Rai orders Endemol Shine crime drama
Italian pubcaster Rai has tapped Endemol Shine for a crime drama.
Set in an idyllic seaside town, Missing will follow the story of two teenagers who mysteriously disappear.
Endemol Shine Italy is producing the twelve-part primetime series, which will premiere later this year on Rai1.
Rai is also working with Endemol Shine Italy on a seventh season of crime comedy The Teacher, in which a high school literary teacher solves complicated murder cases in between her work school and home lives.
Eight episodes of the show, which is adapted from Margherita Oggero’s novels, are in production for Rai1.
The Good Apprentice, meanwhile, is going into a second season, again for Rai and from Endemol Shine Italy, which is led by Paolo Bassetti, brother of Banijay Group CEO Marco Bassetti.
The primetime crime comedy follows a smart young science intern that works on cases that go far beyond her work duties. It is based on Alessia Gazzola’s novels.
Endemol Shine has also received a fourth season of Tuscan Passion, a Canale 5 drama about competing wine-producing families.
“Over the years, we have expanded our scripted production creating some of the most appealing multi-season brands for the different audiences of our national broadcasters,” said Massimo del Frate, head of drama at Endemol Shine Italy. “We hope these high quality productions will still leave viewers gripped.”
