CBS poaches Warner Bros legal exec
CBS has named Warner Bros. exec Nick Macrae as senior vice president of legal and business affairs in EMEA.
In his post, Macrae will be based at the company’s EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam, reporting to Javier Avitia, executive vice president of legal and business affairs at CBS.
Macrae will oversee the legal and business affairs for US broadcaster CBS in the region. He will guide the firm’s business and legal strategies that support distribution and programming operations, as well as advise the company on regulatory issues.
In addition, Macrae will work closely with senior management on negotiating, drafting and reviewing a variety of agreements for licensing of CBS, Showtime and The CW programming across the territory. CBS’ team of lawyers and contract administrators in Amsterdam will report to Macrae.
“Nick is a seasoned studio veteran, with nearly two decades of experience and a stellar reputation in the business,” said Avitia.
Prior to joining CBS, Macrae held several senior legal positions at Warner Bros. These included vice president of business legal affairs at Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, VP of business and legal affairs at Warner Bros. Home Video and most recently, senior vice president of Warner Bros Entertainment.
