Ryan Seacrest signs ABC Studios deal
American presenter Ryan Seacrest has signed an overall deal with ABC Studios.
Under terms of the pact, Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP) will develop exclusive scripted projects for TV networks and on-demand platforms within the studios arm of US broadcaster ABC.
RSP was previously housed at CBS Television Studios.
Seacrest recently signed up to co-host a new Disney-ABC Television Group syndicated talk show, Live with Kelly and Ryan.
He also is host and executive producer of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, which plays annually on ABC, and will present ABC’s version of American Idol.
On the scripted side, RSP produced the short-lived sitcom Mixology for ABC during the 2013-14 season.
RSP’s scripted division, which Nina Wass leads as president, also produces NBC’s Shades of Blue and is working on Netflix comedy Insatiable.
“Under Nina’s leadership, our scripted team has achieved great success,” said Seacrest. “Her creativity, hard work and key talent relationships have helped us achieve an impressive slate in a short period of time.
“We’ve all worked with ABC Studios in the past, and we hope our partnership will serve to further our collective success. It’s an honour for us to now call ABC Studios home for our scripted division.”
RSP is best known for reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which it coproduces with Bunim/Murray Productions.
