Warner Bros Sweden appoints SF exec as drama head
Warner Bros. International Production Sweden (WBITVP) has appointed Johan Hedman to lead the production company’s drama unit.
Reporting directly to WBITVP managing director Johan Idering, Hedman will lead on the development and production of all scripted television content. He joins Warner Bros. from SF Studios where he is head of TV.
Idering said: “There is no secret that scripted content is the fastest growing TV-genre in Sweden. With a skilled and ambitious person as Johan Hedman behind the wheel we look forward to growing our creative drama department. Johan will join the management team and will be an important player in our overall business strategy.”
WBITVP Sweden is one of Warner Bros. International Television Production’s network of 16 local production operations, responsible for both original programming and local versions of formats owned and controlled by the Warner Bros. Television Group.
Recent scripted productions in Sweden have included Farang for TV4, an international thriller set in Thailand starring Ola Rapace (Skyfall), and continuing crime series Maria Wern.
