Facebook orders Humans of New York original
Facebook has ordered a twelve-part original docuseries based on the popular ‘Humans of New York’ blog.
The show, Humans of New York, will debut on Facebook’s new Watch platform next week.
It will feature blog creator Brand Stanton, showcasing his intimate and candid conversations with strangers on the streets of New York.
Since he began the TV project four years ago, he has filmed, interviewed and photographed more than 1,200 people. Overall, he has interviewed more than 10,000 people since 2010.
Oscar-nominated doc maker Julie Goldman will make the show through her Motto Pictures production house.
The show will comprise part of Facebook’s debut slate of series, as it moves into original programming for the first time.
Episodes of Humans of New York will launch weekly as of next week and will be available to all Facebook users.
On Facebook, Stanton’s blog has 18 million followers and it also has seven million followers on Instagram.
