ITV rejigging after comedy ents chief exit
Peter Davey is leaving his role as head of comedy entertainment at UK broadcaster ITV, leading to a commissioning restructure.
ITV director of television is reshaping entertainment commissioning under formats chief Siobhan Greene.
Lygo thanked Davey for his service over six years at ITV and said plans were already in place to work with him again.
“Given Peter’s decision I have decided to streamline the entry point for indies and bring entertainment at ITV under one senior commissioner as a single team, and Shu Greene will be stepping up to this role as head of entertainment.”
Greene, who currently oversees Saturday shows such as Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor, will now take on all entertainment shows, including comedy and live entertainment events.
Davey said he would take some time out of the business to spend with his family before “exploring new opportunities”.
He had joined ITV’s production division, ITV Studios (ITVS), in 2011 as creative director of entertainment, working under Lygo, who was managing director of ITVS at the time.
Before that, he had been director of programmes at Penn & Teller: Fool Us producer September Films.
