Amazon brings Exorcist, This is Us to Prime
Amazon and 20th Century Fox Television Distribution have reached an international content licensing agreement to bring the TV adaptation of The Exorcist (pictured) and This is Us to Prime customers in over 200 territories.
During September 2017, Amazon Prime Video will start introducing seasons of the shows to new countries post-local season finale broadcast.
This is Us is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and The Exorcist is from Morgan Creek Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television.
The ensemble drama has been a huge ratings and critical hit for US broadcaster NBC, with some hailing it for saving the family soap genre.
The Exorcist, which is based on the seminal horror movie of the same name, has been well received on Fox in the US and scored reasonable ratings.
This marks the most encompassing international agreement between Amazon and Fox, making Amazon Prime the exclusive streaming home for both series in select countries.
“This is Us is one of the best new TV series, beloved by viewers and acclaimed by critics,” said Brad Beale, vice president of worldwide television acquisition for Amazon. “Prime Video members are going to love watching this Emmy award-winning show along with the thrilling horror series The Exorcist.”
This Is Us scored eleven Emmy nominations and won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Sterling K. Brown) earlier this week.
