Hulu puts on GameFace after UK deal
Hulu has signed a licensing deal with All3Media International for the US video-on-demand rights to Objective Media Group scripted series GameFace.
The complete first season of the dramedy series will become available to stream in the US in autumn, exclusively on Hulu.
The 6×30 minute series, which will premiere on the UK’s E4 later this year, is created, written by and starring Roisin Conaty (Life on the Road, Man Down). Its original pilot episode aired in the UK in April 2014.
The show follows a woman (Conaty) as she crashes her way through life, assisted by her a life-coach, best friends and an ever patient driving instructor.
GameFace was created by Objective Fiction (Fresh Meat, Peep Show) and was commissioned by Channel 4 comedy commissioning editor Rachel Springett. Ben Farrell will serve as executive producer, Charlotte Lewis as producer and Andrew Chaplin as director.
All3Media is the show’s international distributor.
Louise Pedersen, CEO at All3Media International, said: “We’re very pleased to kick off our international sales for GameFace with this key presale to Hulu, a platform renowned for featuring innovative and original comedy content.
“The pilot episode received a fantastic response, with wide critical acclaim, and we’re looking forward to seeing its success grow as we bring the full series to broadcasters and platforms around the world.”
