ITVSGE hands EMEA to Johnson
ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE) has promoted Americas sales chief Greg Johnson control of the EMEA region.
Johnson will keep his previous duties in his new post as executive VP of EMEA and Americas, though he is relocating to London in January 2018.
Since joining ITVSGE in 2013 from BBC Worldwide, Johnson has lead his team to “double the size of the Americas distribution business” through deals such as Hulu buying Harlots, according to the sales arm of broadcaster ITV.
“Greg has done a fantastic job in America and delivered another record-breaking year in 2016, a testament to his drive, strategic mind and strength of his relationships with buyers,” said ITVSGE managing director Ruth Berry, to whom he will report.
Johnson spent three years working at BBCWW Americas and was previously VP of sales for Disney Media Distribution in Asia Pacific.
“I am incredibly excited to enter into this new role and expanded remit, building upon the strong relationships the EMEA sales team already have and finding additional paths of ensuring the widest possible distribution and global audience for our producing partners’ wonderful content,” he said.
