Fox’s Gifted drama set for 183-territory launch
Fox Networks Group will air The Gifted in more than 183 countries on its channel following the show’s US premiere last night.
The family series is set in the X-Men universe and is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television.
The launch of The Gifted across Fox channels internationally is part of Fox Networks Group’s international programming and marketing strategy for high profile series, which includes Legion, The Walking Dead, Prison Break, 24: Legacy and The X-Files.
The Gifted tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers.
Matt Nix (Burn Notice), Bryan Singer (X-Men: Apocalypse), Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory serve as executive producers.
Nix, who serves as the series’ showrunner, wrote the pilot, which was directed by Singer.
Peter Rice, 21st Century Fox president, said: “The global scale and reach of the Fox brand gives us a unique capacity to make series such as The Gifted available to viewers everywhere day and date.
“This fantastic series, which expands on our longstanding collaboration with Marvel, Matt Nix, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Lauren Shuler Donner and the X-Men universe, will resonate widely, and we couldn’t be more excited for its worldwide launch.”
