Ex-TCB exec in as Reel One adds two
Reel One Entertainment has bolstered its international distribution team with the appointment of former TCB Media Rights sales manager Anna Budashevskaya and sales exec Mai Aboelfadle, with the latter joining from Warner Bros.
Anna Budashevskaya (pictured) will be responsible for the continued development of new and existing broadcaster relationships specifically within CEE, German-speaking Europe and Scandinavia.
Mai Aboelfadle will operate sales within Asia and the Middle East; a new role at Reel One which presents expansion of Reel One’s global reach.
Based out of the London office, both Budashevskaya and Aboelfadle will report to the recently promoted Louisa Cadywould, senior vice president and head of international distribution.
Budashevskaya is a former TVF International and TCB Media Rights exec, while Aboelfadle has been working at the London office of US studio Warner Bros. Budashevskaya is fluent in French and Russian, while Aboelfadle speaks Arabic and Japanese.
Reel One’s volume of content for distribution has more than doubled in the last few years, covering a broad range of TV movie genres, including rom-coms, Christmas movies, as well as TV thrillers.
In June, it hired Mary Kills People producer Adam Fratto as senior VP of series as an early step in a move into original high-end international drama production.
“The appetite for premium TV movies has seen us more than double our distribution volume in recent years, allowing us to achieve one of our key goals of directly distributing to our broadcast partners about 25 TV movies per year,” said Reel One CEO Tom Berry.
“As we enter this next phase of growth, we are pleased to welcome Anna and Mai to Reel One as we continue to strengthen and expand our international sales operations.”
