AMC set to go free for Snatch premiere
BT and AMC will broadcast the channel free of charge in the UK from October 28 to November 5 via the Sky digital satellite platform.
During the period, Sky subscribers can catch a host of series marathons as well as the exclusive UK premiere of new drama series Snatch (pictured), which stars Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, plus supernatural drama Preacher.
It will be free to BT customers on channel number 332 on BT TV, and to BT Sport Pack Subscribers on Sky Channel 192. AMC is also available in HD on both BT TV and Sky with a HD subscription.
Snatch is a reimagining of the Guy Ritchie movie of the same name. The drama centres on a group of twenty-something, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high stakes world of organised crime.
The series is created and executive produced by Alex De Rakoff (Dead Man Running, The Calcium Kid).
Preacher is a supernatural and darkly comedic drama that follows a Texas preacher named Jesse Custer. It is developed for television by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg (This is The End, Superbad, Neighbours) and showrunner Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad).
“AMC is rightfully lauded for its outstanding range of programming, and we’re excited to offer a wider range of customers the opportunity to see some of the channel’s very best series free of charge,” said Mike Moriarty, president of AMC Networks International for Central Europe and the UK.
“Funny, thrilling, epic, ground-breaking and unique, we’re looking forward to showcasing a great line-up of shows that will appeal to a wide range of audiences.”
