Disney poaches Paramount TV for originals
Disney Channels Worldwide has poached a Paramount Television for original programming.
Dina Hillier has been named VP of original series for the Disney Channel, working on development of live-action series for multiple platforms.
Hillier was previously VP of comedy development and current programming at Paramount TV, the television production arm of Viacom-owned studio Paramount Pictures.
She will report to executive VP of original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide Adam Bonnett, and worked closely with Disney Channel’s other VP of original series, Jonas Agin.
While at Paramount, Hillier developed shows such as Grease: Live for Fox, The First Wives Club for the Paramount Network, Nickelodeon’s School of Rock and Seeso’s Bajillion Dollar Propertie$.
She has also worked on series such as NBC’s Community, ABC’s Happy Endings and The King of Queens while working at Sony Pictures Television.
“We are fortunate to have Dina’s experience, insights and strong ties to the creative community in a critical role, joining Jonas and the entire development team to deliver new stories for kids and families,” said Bonnett.
