A+E hires Miramax vet for distribution
A+E Networks has hired TV and film veteran Richard Tulk-Hart as managing director of international content sales.
Based in London, Tulk-Hart will manage all of A+E Network’s content distribution and format licensing activities outside the US. He will report to Patrick Vien, executive managing director of international at A+E.
Tulk Hart will oversee staff based in Korea, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Tokyo.
His hire comes a number of months after former international content sales chief Joel Denton exited.
The new exec will also help to grow the company’s international co-production opportunities, as well as pre-sales and distribution for scripted series, mini-series and movies from A+E Networks.
In addition Tulk-Hart will oversee format sales outside the US for shows such as Seven Year Switch and Bride and Prejudice: The Forbidden Weddings.
Prior to this, Tulk-Hart served as senior vice president of international for Miramax where he oversaw linear and digital content sales outside the US and Latin America, and covered all of the company’s multi territory sales and relationships with Netflix and Amazon.
Tulk-Hart has also played a sales role at Fremantle Media and IMG Media in the past.
“Richard is a highly respected media and content sales executive, with deep, industry-wide knowledge across multiple genres and platforms,” said Vien.
“As demand for our content continues to grow and thrive around the world, Richard’s reputation with content buyers, strong business savvy, and sharp entrepreneurial instincts make him the perfect fit to head up our global content sales efforts.”
