Netflix suspends House of Cards season six
Netflix and production partner Media Rights Capital (MRC) have suspended work on season six of House of Cards indefinitely, following news that the show will not continue beyond 2018.
Yesterday Netflix revealed that it was ending the series, news that came as claims of sexual harassment were made about leading star and producer Kevin Spacey.
It was not yet clear what would happen to season six, which was in mid-production and due for a 2018 release, until a statement was made later on in the day by the streaming service.
“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” Netflix said.
The news arrived after executives from both companies appeared on set in Baltimore yesterday to meet with cast and crew and address their concerns.
It has since been reported that Netflix is in early stages of development for a House of Cards spin-off.
