BBC Four buys new Welsh noir
UK network BBC Four has acquired Hidden (Craith), the upcoming Welsh-language noir drama from the makers of Hinterland (Y Gwyll).
The deal with All3Media International comes after BBC Four acquired detective drama Hinterland.
Hidden will launch in Welsh on S4C in January next year before the bilingual version, Hidden, airs on BBC Wales and then BBC Four.
The eight-part drama comes from Ed Talfan, whose credits include Hunterland, Apostle, The Passing, and Mark Andrew, who was script consultant on seasons two and three of Hinterland.
The show comes from producer Severn Screen. It is billed as a “gripping serial thriller made up of inter-weaving narratives” that are linked by a single crime.
All3 International senior VP of EMEA Caroline Stephenson said the series has the tone of Y Gwyll / Hinterland”.
